Generating Descriptions

If you're just getting started on Tako, follow this handy step-by-step guide to generate your first product descriptions.

1. Check product details

For each product, Tako will automatically pull the product title, vendor, product type and original product description from your store. If you need to make any changes, simply click on the input field and edit away.

Clicking on "Refresh Store" (at the top of your screen) pulls any new products from your store to Tako. Don't worry, Tako won't override any products on your store—your Shopify data is safe!

2. Add keywords

To help Tako write more accurate, relevant and impactful copy, you'll need to provide it with enough details to understand the product. This includes:

  • Product specifications (e.g. 'blue floral print', 'asymmetrical')
  • Use cases (e.g. 'party', 'good for summer')
  • Writing styles and tones (e.g. 'playful', 'formal')

If an image of your product or your original description is available, Tako will provide some suggested keywords. Just click on any of them to add it to your list of keywords.

We recommend adding 4 to 7 keywords for the best results.

3. Generate and edit descriptions

Click "Generate" to generate your first set of descriptions. Make sure you have all the things you want Tako to talk about before hitting this button.

Within seconds, you'll see the descriptions that Tako has written. Read through these descriptions and click on any of them to make edits. You can also click to insert your original product description to the end of the description.

Once you've settled on a description you like, hit "Select" followed by "Publish to Storefront", which will push this product description live on your product page.

Congratulations, you've generated and published your first description!
